Hollywood Ave in Pontiac to Close Permanently

Pontiac, MI – RACER Trust right this moment pronounces the everlasting closure to vehicular and pedestrian visitors of Hollywood Avenue between West Kennett Road and West Mansfield Avenue in the City of Pontiac, efficient Monday, August 22. Travelers are suggested to use Baldwin Avenue or Carlisle Street in its place north-south route between West Kennett Road and West Tennyson Avenue.
The City of Pontiac vacated the portion of Hollywood Avenue between West Kennett Road and West Mansfield Avenue in December 1984, transferring possession to the previous General Motors Corp. (“old GM”). Ownership transferred to RACER Trust in 2011 because of the “old GM” chapter. RACER consulted with the City of Pontiac and determined to shut this part of Hollywood Avenue in the pursuits of public security.
Signs alerting vacationers to the closure will likely be quickly posted alongside Hollywood Avenue at a number of areas, at its intersection with West Mansfield Avenue, and alongside West Kennett Road west and east of its intersection with Hollywood Avenue. Detour indicators directing vacationers to Tennyson Avenue will likely be positioned alongside Baldwin Avenue. In addition, non permanent boundaries with “Road Closed” signage will likely be positioned throughout Hollywood Avenue at West Kennett Road and West Mansfield Avenue. The non permanent signage will likely be changed by everlasting boundaries and fencing. Please see connected diagram for particulars.
