Untreated wastewater leaking behind Eastern Carolina home

CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – A county right here within the east noticed hundreds of gallons of wastewater flowing on neighborhood roadways.

Officials say about 14,250 gallons of untreated wastewater was touring behind 603 Salem Court in direction of Slocum Creek.

According to usgs.gov, wastewater is used water from houses and/or companies. It can embody human waste, meals scraps, oils, soaps, and chemical compounds, in addition to, water from sinks, showers, bogs, washing machines, and dishwashers.

The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality division of water assets has been notified and is reviewing the leakage.
